HARTFORD G. DAWSON, PHD
Hartford G. Dawson, PhD is a Jamaican-born educator, corporate trainer, and debut author whose life story is a testament to resilience, faith, and vision. At 19, he immigrated to the United States to pursue education and opportunity—arriving with little more than hope. In those early days, he faced hunger and slept on the floor, enduring hardship that would later fuel his mission to uplift others.
He went on to earn a doctorate in Information Technology and now teaches at both secular and Christian universities, blending cultural insight with academic rigor. Hartford also serves as a technician and technical trainer at a Fortune 500 company, where he equips teams to navigate complex systems with clarity and confidence.
In 2014, a near-death experience became a turning point. Driven by a renewed sense of purpose, Hartford founded Love Without Walls, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to global compassion and community uplift. He is currently leading the development of a children’s hospital in Ghana, West Africa—scheduled to open in 2026. The hospital will provide life-saving care to thousands of children across the continent. Learn more or support the initiative at LoveWithoutWalls.org.
His debut book, The Apple and the Stone, offers twelve transformative strategies for turning adversity into legacy. Drawing from personal trials and professional experience, Hartford weaves together Steve Jobs’s bold innovation and David’s fearless resolve to help readers rise above hardship and lead with purpose.
Beyond the book, Hartford is building a movement—through guided journals, affirmation cards, and reader communities like The Stone Circle on Goodreads. His mission is clear: to help others turn their most challenging moments into stepping stones toward greatness.
Hartford lives in New York with his wife and three sons, where he continues to write, teach, and inspire.
